Installation of the Windows Desktop Client

This page contains instructions for installing the Oracle Calendar desktop client for Windows.

Using the Oracle Calendar desktop client, you can create and manage meetings, Daily Notes, Day Events, and tasks. If you have been granted designate rights by another user, you can create agenda entries on that user's behalf. You can easily compare schedules or verify other users' availability using a convenient combined group view, and check scheduling conflicts before creating meetings. The Oracle Calendar desktop client includes an address book enabling you to keep track of your contacts and classify them according to configurable categories.

System requirements

Operating Systems: Windows 2000, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Professional, or Windows Vista

Note: You must have administrative privileges to install Oracle Calendar desktop client on Windows NT, 2000, and XP.

Disk space: 50 MB

RAM: 128 MB minimum (256 MB or more recommended)

Installing Oracle Calendar desktop client for Windows

Log in with administrator privileges if you are installing on Windows 2000 or XP.

  1. Download the Oracle Calendar including Outlook Connector software package from the CITES Software WebStore. (For more detailed instructions on navigating the WebStore, see Downloading Oracle Calendar from the CITES Software WebStore.)
  2. Double-click on the downloaded installation file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. On Windows Vista systems, you may be prompted to accept the "unidentified" Oracle software or to respond to a security prompt.
  4. After installation completes, Oracle Calendar will be available in the Programs section of the Start menu.
