Connecting to the Campus NetworkWireless NetworkingIf you own a laptop computer with a wireless card, you can connect it to the campus network at many locations around campus. Walkup ComputingIf you own a laptop computer with a network jack, you can connect it to the campus network at many locations around campus. All you need is the proper cable. For more information, go to the Convenient Network Access Around Campus page. URHnetIf you live in the residence halls, you can connect your computer to the campus network from your room. What If I Don’t Own My Own Computer?CITES ICS Computing LabsInstructional Computing Services (ICS) labs are available to all students on the Urbana campus. These labs provide current computer software, hardware, and audiovisual equipment and are staffed by site consultants. For information on the locations of these labs and the software and equipment they contain, go to the Instructional Computing Services page. To use the computer labs, you will need an ICS password. To set your ICS password, use the CITES Password Manager. NOTE: You need your NetID and NetID password to use this. Other Computing LabsThe University Residence Halls have their own computing labs, some departments have computer labs for their students, and students in the College of Engineering have access to the Engineering Workstation (EWS) labs. |
