Synchronize PasswordVault

If you use PasswordVault on more than one computer or if you use PasswordVault2Go, you will probably want to auto-synchronize your passwords. This will prevent you from having to re-enter passwords in one program that you've already entered on the other program, and will provide a backup in case something happens to your computer or portable media drive.

Auto-synchronizing Your Passwords With PasswordVault2Go

To auto-synchronize your passwords:

  1. Select the same master password for both PasswordVault on your desktop and PasswordVault2Go on your portable media drive.
  2. Open PasswordVault2Go on your portable media drive and choose Edit > Preferences for Windows or PC_Mac PasswordVault2Go X > Preferences for Mac OS X.
  3. Click the Auto-Sync to Desktop checkbox in PasswordVault2Go Preferences.

Now every time you run PasswordVault2Go, it will automatically replace the older data on one program with the most recent data from the other program.

You can also use the auto-synchronize feature if you have PasswordVault on more than one machine, such as a desktop and laptop. Simply move your portable media drive between the two and easily synchronize passwords.

Note: You will need to run PasswordVault2Go to synchronize your passwords. The synchronization controls are found only in PasswordVault2Go, and not in PasswordVault.
